More on Honey

A beautiful bright November morning gave me a couple of hours to do some more work on Honey. The sun streams through the windows in the morning so it's pleasant to sit and draw. Here's the latest scan, I'm still struggling with her fur!

Looking great so far Karen! Do you feel like you're getting the hang of the film a bit more now? I remember what a learning curve it was when I first tried it!

Thanks Wendy, I'm getting used to it slowly but stil find the lack of layering ability a problem when it comes to getting the colours right and also doing the eyes of animals, which I've previously done with lots of very light layers.

Thanks Vic, I haven't mastered drafting film either, lol. Wendy has given me some very helpful advice it's my own inexperience that's the problem. Maybe I shouldn't have tried drafting film so soon!

Oh I don't think you've tried it too soon at all :) Besides, drafting film is a very different beast to any other surface anyway, almost different enough that it's like using an entirely different medium. So you'd only have to relearn everything all over anyway! I think you're doing great :)
